Not all the casemates of the Vallo Alpino have been finished. Here you can clearly see the construction methods. First the gallery and the foundations were constructed. The two armoured plates for the MG embrasures were installed after which the casemate could be completed. One plate still remains. It weights 2.775 kgs. When the Germans took over Austria in 1938 the Italians started to reinforce Northern Italy and the French border was given a lower priority. That made that several casemates, in particular those in the second and third lines, were never finished.
