The interior of one of the five casemates of Opera 20, each armed with a heavy machine-gun. This MG provided flanking fire and was not likely to be exposed the direct fire. Therefore it had only a 7 cm thick "piastra piana". You can clearly see the post-war ventilation system. This consisted of a tube which provided the air and the filter boxes where the crew could attach their gas masks to.
