Although Pian dei Morti is located at 2.000 m altitude it was well suited for an armoured attack. Here the enemy could try to outpass the defenses at Resia. That is why an anti-tank barrage was built here. It consisted of a wall with two sections of round 'dragon teeths'. These dragon teeth covered the lower, more wet, areas, while the wall was built in the higher parts of the plateau.
