Not only the casemates of the Vallo Alpino were adapted to the terrain, but also the embrasures. This MG embrasure of Opera 9 is a clear example. On the left is a steep slope, so the weapon didn't need a high elevation to cover that. The designers prefered to keep the embrasure as small as possible to make it a smaller target.
