Almost all the Swiss forts had their own power station. This supplied the electricity for the kitchen, the lighting, the ventilation and the air compressors. Scex was no exception and has two generators, made by Sulzer during World War Two. Although the engines are quite old, the other installations are more modern.
In the background you can see the small filter rooms which includes three types of filters: a carbon filter against poison gas, an anti-CO filter and a nuclear filter. This system dates from the Cold War when a nuclear attack against Switzerland couldn't be ruled out.
