Several blockhouses in the region were equipped with an observation turret. The observer could only use his binoculars, because the pbservation slits were too small for a range finder. The fact that this blockhouse has an observation turret is a bit strange. Normally these turrets were only installed in blockhouses close to the border.

Some people say that these turrets were taken from the forts around Lille. In reality they were designed by the Engineers of the first Military Region of Lille.
