This pillbox is interesting to study the construction methods of the British troops. It seems that a pillbox was built in several stages. Here they finished only the lower layer. The rails were used to reinforce the embrasures, this one had to get three of them. The plates around the pillbox seems to have been used only during the construction. I haven't seem them elsewhere and they don't provide any support to the pillbox.
