The main task of the Panzerwerk Nord was to protect the Panzerbatterie 5, an armoured battery with three bunkers with each a 10,5 cm gun turret, against infantry attacks. But like the battery it was never finished. It had to be built in protection A, which means that it had to get 3,5 m. thick walls and roofs. The armament would consist of a 6-Schartenturm, a MG turret with six embrasures, a flame thrower and a automatic 5 cm mortar. Actually this is quite modest when you consider that it measured more than 25 x 20 m.
