The Sherman turret which remains at Dignano where the SS464 crossed the river Tagliamento. As you can see only a small part of the original hull of the tank has been retained. Two hatches have been cut in the front to enter and leave the tank. In fact the casemate is very primitive. Since the engine was removed too there was no heating for the crew and the small hull would be very cramped.
