The work consists of three casemates from which two defended the unfinished ditches. The barracks and one unknown building were never constructed. The photo shows a part of one of the two casemates that defend the ditch. It had four HMGs, so it would be almost impossible to cross the ditch alive. It was not unusual for German ditch casemates to have two levels. These designs were not only smaller, but in case the lower embrasures would be blocked by debris the upper one would still be able to fire. |
