The double counterscarp coffers of the western infantry work. It was armed with four 53 mm guns, two in each direction. Note the gate on top of the coffer. It had to prevent enemy soldiers from descending in the ditch. Strangely the covered way runs before the gate, so it also blocks the return of the own soldiers on the covered way.
