Gros ouvrage de Rochonvillers: one of the two 135 mm retractable turrets of the work. The heavy mortars were intended to destroy enemy trenches and other field fortifications. In 1940 the 135 mm mortar proved to very efficient against houses that were occupied by enemy troops.
