This small observation post is one of the most unfortunate of Liege. While returning from a patrol one of the crew member was shot by his own crew when they mistook him for a German. Later the observation turret was blown up by German troops that had already assaulted the famous fort Eben-Emael. The hollow charge killed two crew members and seriously injured two others.
