This fort was built between 1877 and 1881. It is an exemple of the Italian barrage forts of that period. It has a large number of frontal embrasures for 9 cm guns. In 1909/1910 firing tests were conducted here and they showed that the fort was totally outdated. Several shells penetrated the walls and roofs. The damage is still visible.
