One might wonder why a ship has been painted in the Maginot Line. The ship is the battleship Courbet that was launched in 1911. It was armed with 12 guns of 305 mm and 22 of 138,6 mm. Eventually the ship was scuttled in Normandy in 1944 to serve as breakwater.
