The interior of one of the buildings of Fort des Trois Têtes
Because of its size Fort des Trois Têtes (1721-1734) had a large garnison. The men were housed in several big buildings. The garnison even had its own horses and mules. They had their own building. The roof of this building has stand the test of time very well. The wooden beams are still in a good condition. Wooden roofs were more common in the Alps, since they would be easily disassembled during a siege.
