One of the embrasures for a twin MG
One of the two 'casemates Pamart' of Plate Lombarde. This type of turret was designed in 1916 by captain Pamart, at that time commanding the fort Geniecourt, to reinforce the forts around Verdun. Some turrets had been installed before 1918 and they were used in the Maginot Line. In the Alps the twin Etienne MG was replaced by two light machine guns. Please note that Pamart is written with a T and NOT with a D as many people do.
