One of the embrasures for a twin machine gun oft he work Aittes. It defended a narrow valley east of Briançon. Large scale attacks were not possible here. But the French anticipated that the Italians would try to infiltrate the valley with smaller units. The work was armed with a total of three twin MGs. One of them had to replace by a combination of a 25 mm gun and a twin MG. The gun could be used against possible armoured vehicules. Although some modifications were done the new weapon was never installed.
