One of the plastic turrets on the fort
Fort Liezele is the only fort of the outer ring that has been restored to its original state. Since all the turrets had been removed during World War Two the association has placed plastic domes which have the same shape as the original turrets. You can clearly see that the turrets were largely exposed. Before World War One it was decided to reinforce the turret buildings, but when the hostilities broke out in 1914 the work wasn't finished yet.
